Klickitat County is seeking a volunteer to serve as an Alternate Commissioner on the Hood River–White Salmon Bridge Authority. The Hood River–White Salmon Bridge Authority was formed in July 2023 to oversee the planning, financing, design, and construction of the new Hood River–White Salmon Bridge. The Authority is governed by a six-member board of voting commissioners, with Klickitat County and Hood River County each appointing three members. The Alternate Commissioner serves in a support capacity and may participate when a voting commissioner is unavailable.The Board meets from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. on the second and fourth Monday of each month at the Hood River–White Salmon Bridge Authority Office, located at 1000 E. Jewett Blvd., Suite 204, White Salmon, WA 98672. This is an excellent opportunity for community members interested in transportation infrastructure, regional planning, and public service to contribute to a significant bi-state project.
